Rather than compiling information gained from the interviews with professionals into a standard written report, one idea I had was to take highlights from their responses and visualise these in the form of screen prints, adopting a style inspired by the work of Anthony Burrill and also potentially Ben Rider (maybe combining the two?). In this way, I would be showing how their responses have directly influenced my work, whilst also allowing me to put my screen-printing skills into practice.
Highlighting points from Anthony Burrill's response:
- be part of the conversation
- make work that connects deeply with yourself
- "work hard and be nice to people"
- we are servants of the message
- you can't separate the person from the designer, they are the same thing
- a desire to tell my own story
- find an audience for your work and be continuously active
These points could be transformed into A3 typographic compositions similar to Burrill's work. These could potentially be overlayed onto images as to give it a more unique approach, images which may further highlight the message. A collaged background is another idea, inspired by Ben Rider's experimental approach to printing, as well as taking information from how Burrill started off in the print industry using cheap photocopying methods of production.
